China has received the World Bank's approval for a loan of 89.1 million euro (about 99.07 million U.S. dollars) for a water supply and sanitation public private partnership project in the city of Deyang, Sichuan Province.
The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) confirmed the approval at its website, hailing the move a positive outcome of China's international cooperation with financial organizations of the world in the PPP sector.
It is China's first domestic PPP project to receive a loan from the World Bank. The loan will be used to improve access to water supply and sanitation services and improve the quality and efficiency of water supply and sanitation service delivery in Deyang.
