China's catering and retail sectors' income hit 1.005 trillion yuan (147.7 billion U.S. dollars) during the week-long Chinese Lunar New Year Holiday, up by 8.5 percent year-on-year, according to data from the China's Ministry of Commerce on Sunday.
Sales of Organic food, intelligent home appliance, local specialties showed strong momentum. Sales amount of organic food in Hebei and Hubei provinces surged by 40 percent and 18.6 percent respectively year-on-year.
E-commerce giants provided convenient services during the festival. Smart phones, high-end home appliances, stylish clothes are popular merchandise online.
Besides, customized catering was popular during the Spring Festival. More and more Chinese people ordered takeaways online. Online platforms also provided on-call chefs to serve for dinners.
People spent more on cultural activities and tourism during the holiday. Ski resorts, gyms, cinemas, theaters, museums and art galleries were hot spots.
