Automobile manufacturers in China saw their inventories drop by 8.7 percent in August from the previous month, according to the latest data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on Thursday.
At the end of August, China's auto inventories were 1,310,100 units, compared to 1,435,400 units at the beginning of the month, said the CAAM.
Passenger vehicle inventory of Chinese automakers stood at 1,112,000 units at the end of August, a decline of 8.8 percent from 1,219,400 units at the beginning of the month.
The inventory of commercial vehicles reached 198,100 units, down 8.3 percent from 216,000 units at the beginning of the month.
