A section of the second West-to-East natural gas pipeline, operated by China's top oil and gas producer PetroChina (PTR.NYSE; 601857.SH; 00857.HK), was damaged due to a major landslide in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen on Sunday.
Natural gas supply to Hong Kong has been partially cut off and PetroChina plans to restore natural gas supply by building a temporary natural gas pipeline in seven to ten days. The 193-km section of pipeline links Conghua of Guangzhou city with Qiuyuling of Shenzhen city with diameter of 1,016 millimeters and annual handling capacity of 14.5 billion cubic meters. .
The Black Point Power Station operated by CLP Power Hong Kong Limited and China Southern Power Grid suffered halt of natural gas supply due to the landslide.
