China's Qingdao Energy Storage Industry Technology Institute has successfully developed a lithium-ion (Li-ion) capacitor containing graphene, according to Qingdao Municipal Science and Technology Commission.
The Li-ion capacitor has reached international advanced level, experts from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation certified after tests. With air pollution and other environment issues deteriorating, demands for new energy driven transportation tools have been growing and electrochemical energy storage devices with high-energy density and high-power density are urgently needed.
Scientists from Qingdao Energy Storage Industry Technology Institute has designed and built China's first production line of Li-ion capacitor, which has much larger capacity and requires much less time to charge than common electricity storage devices.
