East China's Shanghai municipality has completed formulating the exposure draft of 13th Five-Year Plan for the integrated circuit (IC) industry, the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal reported on Thursday.
Shanghai's deputy mayor Zhou Bo said the draft stipulates the way of launching its municipal funds to boost the local IC industry and the fund management model. China established a national fund to support the IC industry in September 2014.
By September 2015, the fund has raised more than 100 billion yuan and finished a preliminary layout in the whole IC industrial chain focusing in chip-making.
The invested enterprises have seen rapid development and the weaknesses in chip-making and key equipment have been upgraded thanks to the support of the fund. Shanghai's municipal fund will focus on supporting enterprises in the fields of IC manufacturing and special technics.
