The most active crude oil contract for July delivery was up 6.2 yuan (about 90 U.S. cents) to close at 476.9 yuan a barrel.
On Tuesday the total trading volume for 8 listed crude oil futures contracts on the exchange was 241,964 lots, with a turnover of about 115 billion yuan.
China launched the crude oil futures trading, which is open to overseas investment, on March 26 last year.
