Shanghai crude oil futures close higher

SHANGHAI, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Crude oil futures closed higher Tuesday on the Shanghai International Energy Exchange.

The most active crude oil contract for July delivery was up 6.2 yuan (about 90 U.S. cents) to close at 476.9 yuan a barrel.

On Tuesday the total trading volume for 8 listed crude oil futures contracts on the exchange was 241,964 lots, with a turnover of about 115 billion yuan.

China launched the crude oil futures trading, which is open to overseas investment, on March 26 last year.
