TOKYO, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened marginally lower Thursday as a comparatively firm yen against the U.S. dollar weighed on export-related issues.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 12.96 points, or 0.06 percent, from Wednesday to 21,674.61.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 3.37 points, or 0.21 percent, at 1,604.29.

Bank, and iron and steel-oriented issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
