U.S.-listed Chinese firms trade mostly lower

NEW YORK, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded mostly lower on Friday with seven of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on a downbeat note.

Shares of Pinduoduo and NetEase decreased 5.77 percent and 2.06 percent, respectively, the top two laggards in the top 10 stocks in the index.

Shares of TAL Education and ZTO Express increased 1.80 percent and 0.51 percent, respectively, leading the gainers in the top 10 stocks.

U.S. stocks closed lower on Friday despite solid jobs data.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 277.26 points, or 0.94 percent, to 29,102.51. The S&P 500 fell 18.07 points, or 0.54 percent, to 3,327.71. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 51.64 points, or 0.54 percent, to 9,520.51.

As of Thursday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 3,331.47, marking a 7.89-percent increase for the month-to-date returns and a 5.18-percent gain for the year-to-date returns.
