S.Korea's industrial output grows 4.2 pct in June

SEOUL, July 31 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's industrial output grew last month, with both consumption and investment being on the rise, statistical office data showed Friday.

The seasonally adjusted production in all industries, which exclude the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, gained 4.2 percent in June from a month earlier, according to Statistics Korea.

Production in the mining and manufacturing industry advanced 7.2 percent last month, while output in the services sector expanded 2.2 percent.

Retail sale, which reflects private consumption, climbed 2.4 percent in June from the previous month.

Facility investment increased 5.4 percent in the month, and completed construction added 0.4 percent.
