Vietnam's trade surplus reaches 25.83 bln USD in 11 months

HANOI, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam saw a trade surplus of 25.83 billion U.S. dollars in the first 11 months of this year, according to latest data released by the General Statistics Office.

The Office reported that during the cited period, the total import-export turnover of goods hit 619.17 billion dollars, down 8.3 percent year on year, with exports decreasing by 5.9 percent and imports dropping by 10.7 percent compared to the same period last year.

The domestic sector saw a trade deficit of 19.99 billion dollars, and the foreign-invested sector (including crude oil) posted a trade surplus of 45.82 billion dollars.

China was Vietnam's largest import market for the cited period with a turnover estimated at 99.6 billion dollars, the report said.

The export revenue of Vietnam's industrial processing sector reached 284.87 billion dollars in the 11 months, accounting for 88.3 percent of the total, according to the Office report.
