NEW YORK, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened slightly in late trading on Wednesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.0 percent to 105.254 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro increased to 1.0743 U.S. dollars from 1.0740 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound rose to 1.2718 U.S. dollars from 1.2709 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 158.02 Japanese yen, higher than 157.79 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar added to 0.8846 Swiss francs from 0.8838 Swiss francs, and it decreased to 1.3713 Canadian dollars from 1.3716 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar climbed to 10.4430 Swedish kronor from 10.4380 Swedish kronor.
