(Yunneng), the company responsible for the construction and operation of the 640 MW Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm project (Yunlin OWF) project in Taiwan, has achieved another major milestone by successfully completing the installation of all 80 foundations, which includes both the monopiles and transition pieces. The project team continues to collaborate closely with all partners to ensure the steady construction progress and remains on track for a full completion of the Yunlin OWF by the end of 2024. With 80 foundations and 68 wind turbine generators (WTG) installed, including 52 WTGs already feeding clean electricity into the grid, the Yunlin OWF is progressing rapidly. Additionally, 56 out of the 69 inner array grids and all 12 export cables are now in place. These significant milestones mark the commencement of the project's final installation phase.

"Completing the foundation installation marks a crucial step towards finishing the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm project," stated Patrick Lammers, CEO of Skyborn Renewables. "This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work of our team and the collaborative spirit with our partners. We thank the Taiwanese government for their ongoing support. With the significant construction progress, successful financial restructuring, localization advancements, and a clear commitment to environmental responsibility, we demonstrate our commitment to Taiwan's clean energy transition."

The Yunlin OWF is the first offshore wind project to voluntarily exceed localization commitments and do more than required. As part of the key localization initiatives including 40 monopiles and 40 transition pieces, the project team has partnered with Taiwan's leading manufacturers, Formosa Heavy Industries and CTCI Machinery. Moreover, Yunlin OWF has set several records, including the first successful localization of foundations, inclusive of transcontinental technical collaboration, whereby the project team has optimized the production process and reduced the manufacturing time for transition pieces to just five days. Also, the Yunlin OWF was the first project to commit to long-term charter locally build Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs).

Yunlin OWF is equally committed to environmental responsibility. Since 2021 Yunneng, with the support of Skyborn Renewables Taiwan (Skyborn Taiwan), has continuously implemented a four-year "Black-faced Spoonbill Tracking Program," the endangered species (EN) in Asia Pacific. By utilizing advanced GPS technology, this initiative has yielded crucial data on the habitat and migration patterns. To date, the program has identified 10 new activity hotspots and recorded over 100 flight paths, creating "the world's most comprehensive database" of first-hand flight trajectory data for Black-faced Spoonbills. This notable achievement earned Yunneng a Bronze Award in both the prestigious Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards (APSAA) and the Taiwan Sustainable Action Award (TSAA) in the 'Life on Land' category.

The Yunlin OWF is located in the Taiwan Strait, between 8 and 17 km off the west coast of Taiwan, at water depths from 7 up to 35 m. The 82 km² project area will comprise 80 wind turbine generators, whose generated electricity will be fed into the Taiwanese power grid via two onshore substations near the townships of Taixi and Sihu in Yunlin County. Electricity from the project is provided to Taiwan Power Co. under two 20-year power purchase agreements. The project is backed by a strong financial consortium established in 2019, including Taiwanese and international banks alongside export credit agencies. Once completed, the 640 MW Yunlin OWF will be Taiwan's second-largest offshore wind farm and produce enough clean energy to serve the energy needs of more than 600,000 Taiwanese households.

Shareholders of Yunneng Wind Power Co., Ltd.

Skyborn Renewables (Skyborn)

Skyborn is an accomplished offshore wind developer and operator with more than 20 years' experience, headquartered in Germany.

VinFast is counting on excellent warranty and aftersales support to dispel doubts about EV reliability and drive adoption. With a 10-year warranty on both vehicle and battery, the Vietnamese automaker is setting a new standard for consumer confidence in the electric vehicle market.

HANOI, VIETNAM - Media OutReach Newswire - 23 August 2024 - The electric vehicle (EV) market is at a crossroads. While overall sales have surged in recent years, there's still a sense of hesitation among consumers. Are EVs really as reliable as their gasoline-powered counterparts? What happens if something goes wrong? These questions, mirroring concerns from the early days of smartphones, are top of mind for many potential buyers.

While the benefits of EVs are undeniable—reduced emissions, lower operating costs, and a smoother, quieter driving experience—the uncertainties surrounding their long-term performance and ownership costs are a major roadblock to widespread adoption.

The Battery Warranty: More Than Just a Promise

One of the most significant concerns for potential EV buyers is the longevity of the battery, the heart of an electric vehicle. A recent study from India revealed that a significant 47.89% of potential buyers would be more likely to purchase an EV if manufacturers offered comprehensive battery warranties. This finding underscores the pivotal role that trust and reliability play in the EV market.

In many ways, the EV battery is like the engine of a traditional car. It's the powerhouse that propels the vehicle, and its health directly impacts the EV's performance and lifespan. However, unlike traditional engines, EV batteries rely on complex chemical reactions and are susceptible to degradation over time. This degradation, often referred to as "capacity fade," can reduce the battery's capacity and range, leading to concerns about the EV's long-term value and usability.

Consumers, often drawing comparisons to their smartphones, worry that EV batteries will suffer a similar fate, losing significant capacity within a few years. But while the smartphone analogy is understandable, it's not entirely accurate.

As Fortune's James Morris notes, EV batteries aren't charged as frequently as smartphones. The average American drives 40 miles daily, and with most EVs now offering 200+ mile ranges—like the VinFast VF 8's 264-mile range—charging might only be needed every five days, significantly extending battery lifespan.

But while the science is sound, it's still up to OEMs to allay customers' worries about potential battery-related problems. To instill confidence in the EV's long-term viability, most manufacturers guarantee their EV batteries for eight years, when the battery usually has at least 70% capacity remaining. Some have gone above and beyond: VinFast offers a 10-year/125,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, and a 10-year warranty for the battery (unlimited mileage). That's a decade of peace of mind for drivers.

"VinFast's warranty gave me total confidence in making the purchase," said John Riedy, a U.S. photographer and VF 8 owner.

The experience of Riedy and others aligns with researches, which has again been emphasized in one on China's EV scene published in the Polish Journal of Environmental Studies. This study found that consumers' willingness to embrace electric vehicles is positively impacted by longer and more comprehensive battery warranties.

The experience of Riedy and others aligns with existing research literature, further emphasized in a recent study on China's EV scene published in the Polish Journal of Environmental Studies. This study found that consumers' willingness to embrace electric vehicles is positively impacted by longer and more comprehensive battery warranties.

Aftersales Support: Another Deciding Factor

Beyond the warranty, robust aftersales support is a critical factor in EV adoption. A 2023 study by the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago revealed that 47% of Americans are unlikely to buy an EV as their next car, citing concerns about maintenance costs and a lack of knowledge about EV benefits.

It's understandable why the public might hesitate to embrace this new technology. After all, they're accustomed to internal combustion engine (ICE) cars, a technology refined for over a century since Karl Benz produced the first automobile in 1886. While EV technology is advancing rapidly, the supporting infrastructure and expertise are still maturing. For many potential buyers, the prospect of needing specialized technicians or facing potential delays for parts is a significant deterrent.

This is precisely why comprehensive aftersales support is so crucial. It's about building trust and loyalty with customers by demonstrating that EV ownership is not only viable but also convenient. A recent Deloitte report highlighted this trend, indicating that OEMs are exploring innovative service models, such as mobile service units and over-the-air (OTA) software updates, to enhance customer satisfaction and streamline service delivery.

Several brands, including VinFast, are adopting these strategies. By offering easy access to service centers, prompt repairs, knowledgeable technicians, and mobile service, these companies aim to provide a seamless ownership experience. Additionally, OTA updates, enabled by connected vehicle platforms, can add value and enhance vehicle performance over time.

While the environmental benefits of EVs are a draw for many, it's the assurance of a robust warranty and comprehensive aftersales support that truly fosters lasting commitment to the electric vehicle lifestyle. These factors address the real pain points consumers face when considering the switch.

By tackling these concerns head-on, manufacturers like VinFast are paving the way for a future where EVs are not merely an alternative, but the dominant choice on the roads.

Hashtag: #VinFast #EV #VF8

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.

Priority of innovation in finance in China likely to drive further investment

HONG KONG SAR - Media OutReach Newswire - 23 August 2024 - Fintech investments in China made a modest recovery towards the end of 2023 and trickled over into 2024. Among the top ten fintech deals in ASPAC, five originated from Chinese Mainland and Chinese Hong Kong. Despite the regulatory hiccups in China, fintech is poised to remain a durable investment choice with bright spots in crypto, consumer payment systems and lending platforms, according to KPMG's Pulse of Fintech H1'24 report.

Fintech investment in the ASPAC region recorded USD3.8 billion in H1'24 across 438 deals, with China recording a total fintech investment of USD624 million. Consumer finance and lending companies contributed over half of deal value in Q1. China recorded the largest deals in the region during H1'24, with USD280.9 million raised by the capital markets solutions firm Yi'an Enterprise. This was followed by USD209 million raised by the India-based personal loan platform KreditBee, and USD195 million raised by the Thailand-based digital financial solutions company Ascend.

ASPAC region focused more heavily on the development and launch of digital currencies and real-world digital asset tokenization. Major hubs including Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan in particular have been working to balance innovation and regulation in a way that protects investors rights and these jurisdictions will continue to explore and approve activities that blend traditional finance with decentralized finance.

AI continued to grow on the radar of both fintech investors and fintechs, following a trend seen broadly both across ASPAC and globally. During H1'24, the AI focus came predominantly from traditional financial institutions looking to leverage AI to drive operational improvements and efficiencies. Fintechs in the region have also enhanced the emphasis of any AI components of their solutions and offerings, although many of these solutions remain quite nascent, with more sophisticated applications yet to come.

Andrew Huang, Head of Fintech, KPMG China, says: "A number of financial institutions in China have introduced AI-driven applications, such as digital customer service providers and AI robots to help answer questions. Some have also started to use generative AI internally to help with the compilation of computer code for software design and other limited use cases. During H2'24, we will likely continue to see these kinds of activities grow, many with the help of fintechs, but it will likely take time before any applications really mature."

As part of the Five Finance strategy, China's central government is working to encourage financial institutions to support startups in technology finance, green finance, inclusive finance, pension finance, and digital finance — which could lead to additional investments over time. ESG finance came under the spotlight in H1'24 given the USD150 million raise by ESG financial solutions platform MioTech.

Barnaby Robson, Head of Value Creation, KPMG China, says: "While deal volumes remain relatively low, we feel there is a positive change in sentiment around fintech. In the Chinese Mainland, efforts are being made to better connect international payments providers into the Chinese payment ecosystems, with some companies receiving payment licence approvals."

Despite the regulatory uncertainties in the cryptocurrency space in Mainland, fintech is poised to remain a durable investment choice with bright spots in crypto, consumer payment systems and lending platforms. Crypto remain a cornerstone investment choice as blockchain is positioned as a strategic technological innovation in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025).

Meanwhile, Hong Kong is actively cultivating a regulatory framework to support cryptocurrency exchanges and other crypto-related activities. During H1'24, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority launched the next phase of its e-HKD pilot project. The city is aiming to position itself as a global hub for digital assets, with initiatives to attract crypto firms and enhance its financial ecosystem.

Hashtag: #KPMG

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.

About KPMG China

KPMG China has offices located in 31 cities with over 14,000 partners and staff, in Beijing, Changchun, Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Dalian, Dongguan, Foshan, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Haikou, Hangzhou, Hefei, Jinan, Nanjing, Nantong, Ningbo, Qingdao, Shanghai, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Taiyuan, Tianjin, Wuhan, Wuxi, Xiamen, Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR.

Private Housing Estate to Host Groundbreaking Field Test of Self-driving Right-Hand Drive Vehicle

HONG KONG SAR - Media OutReach Newswire - 22 August 2024 - The Automotive Platforms and Application Systems R&D Centre (APAS) announced that "5G-enabled Autonomous People Mover Service in a Residential Park" pilot programme has officially launched following approximately two years of meticulous planning and technological research, like the collection of high-definition maps, artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm development, simulation testing, debugging and most importantly, safety tests. With Movement Permit for a Vehicle secured, the field tests at Fairview Park will commenced on 26 August. The programme received funding from the HKSAR Government's Smart Traffic Fund and enjoyed the full support of Kwoon Chung Bus Holdings Limited (Kwoon Chung), TriTech Distribution Limited (Tritech), a subsidiary of MTT Group Holdings Limited, as well as the Fairview Park Property Management Ltd. and its Management Advisory Committee. It will serve as a reference point for transport officials and the local industry for developing self-driving right-hand drive vehicles, in order to better prepare for the wider adoption of autonomous driving technology in public transportation in the future.

The two autonomous shuttle light buses in the pilot programme have passenger capacities of 12 and 8 respectively, with the 8-seater being equipped with a wheelchair space. Both vehicles feature sensors to detect in real-time if the passengers are wearing their seat belts properly. The low-floor design not only facilitates senior citizens and wheelchair users, but also enhances the children's safety during boarding and alighting. The operator has purchased third-party insurance for the vehicles to protect passengers. During the pilot project period, APAS will conduct monthly inspections of the vehicle and autonomous driving system, and collect relevant data to improve the service.

Dr Lawrence CHEUNG, Chief Executive Officer of APAS, says, "Since APAS began innovating autonomous driving in 2018, we have always dedicated to collaborating with the industry, academia, and technology institutions to commercialise the results of research and development (R&D) innovations, thereby promulgating the development of Hong Kong vehicle technology industry. With the support of Kwoon Chung, TriTech and Farview Park Property Management Ltd, we can launch the pilot programme at Fairview Park. We expect this to benefit the local industry by grooming talent and accumulating experience to facilitate the use of autonomous vehicles, thereby enabling the wider adoption of autonomous driving technologies in public transport soon. APAS will continue striving alongside the 'Hong Kong Smart City Blueprint 2.0' by providing talent and experience to further speed up the implementation of wider application of autonomous vehicle technology in Hong Kong, as well as promoting the collaboration between Government, industry, academia and research sectors to accelerate the relevant R&D and application, making Hong Kong a more liveable, sustainable city."

Mr Timothy WONG, Chief Operating Officer, Kwoon Chung says that the group has been actively exploring autonomous electric light bus services in recent years and is also glad to see an increased number of infrastructure projects to introduce autonomous electric vehicles and transport systems. "At Kwoon Chung, our smart mobility initiatives shoulder the responsibilities of a technical enabler, localisation and commercialisation. By positioning as a technical enabler, Kwoon Chung is committed to applying advanced technologies in the domain of smart mobility, and promoting industry innovation and development. Our vision is to become a pioneer in the localisation and commercialisation of autonomous driving, marrying technological advancements with the demands of Hong Kong and the world while nurturing the implementation and commercialisation of technology."

As one of the largest private residential villa estates in Hong Kong, Fairview Park has long and wide main carriageways while its low-density residential environment makes it ideal for the trial of autonomous driving. This pilot project deploys two autonomous driving shuttle light buses with Cellular-Vehicle-to-Everything (CV2X) that run through the southeastern and northwestern parts of Fairview Park, providing residents with an additional option on top of the existing two estate shuttle bus routes. During the two-month trial period, the two autonomous driving shuttle light buses will operate between 9am and 6pm on Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), with seven bus stops for residents within the estate. The approximately 2.5km-long circular route observes bus stops #3 and #9 in a clockwise direction.

The Fairview Park estate management believes these shuttle light buses can potentially provide residents with extra transportation options, and express their gratitude to the research and development team for selecting Fairview Park as the pilot project for 5G autonomous driving implementation. Fairview Park hopes to integrate 'green technology' and 'Smart City' concepts through application of 'smart mobility' technologies. The estate aims to create a greener and more livable environment for residents, as well as upgrading Fairview Park to be in line with future developments of the Northern Metropolis area. The estate management hopes to continue cooperation with government and private sector through technological innovation, striving to create a sustainable community model and participate in the Smart City development concept for Hong Kong.

Each autonomous driving shuttle light bus in the pilot project is equipped with various sensors, a 5G receiver and AI technologies, from high-definition digital maps, object detection, route planning and vehicle dynamic control (VDC) and more. They are also equipped with CV2X function that integrates cameras, light detection and ranging (LIDAR), and GPS positioning system to enhance the light bus's localisation accuracy. Furthermore, the autonomous driving vehicles can detect surrounding vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and other obstructions, and respond appropriately to avoid any collusions.

Meanwhile, the approved Movement Permit for a Vehicle stipulates a speed limit of 30km/hr for the autonomous driving shuttle light buses in this project. A safety driver will be on board on standby on each trial vehicle, overtaking the controls manually in cases of emergencies for the safety of passengers. Assigned by Kwoon Chung, the safety drivers are holders of valid and designated driving licenses in Hong Kong. They must complete compulsory, professional training conducted by Kwoon Chung to ensure they understand the operation, functions and working guidelines of the autonomous driving shuttle light buses and have the written recognition from the technology developer. During the pilot programme's service hours, a safety officer will be stationed at the bus terminus to monitor the driving data in real-time through the 5G wireless network, and assist the safety drivers in handling any emergencies.

The "5G-enabled Autonomous People Mover Service in a Residential Park" was launched in August 2022. It is coordinated by APAS, who also supports the trial of various autonomous driving technologies and the charging of the autonomous driving shuttle light buses. It is supported by the Government's Smart Transport Fund.

BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- SAIC Motor, a major Chinese carmaker, said it will take further legal action to defend its rights and interests if necessary as the European Commission will make the final ruling regarding tariffs on Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers before Oct. 30.

Last month, the European Commission imposed provisional tariffs of up to 37.6 percent on Chinese EV makers, following the launch of an anti-subsidy probe into Chinese EVs in October 2023.

On Tuesday, the commission released a draft plan proposing to make the tariffs definitive, with slightly revised rates pending approval by EU member states. Under the revised plan, SAIC Motor would face a 36.3 percent tariff.

In response, SAIC Motor said in a statement issued Wednesday that the European Commission's decision violates market economy principles and international trade rules, severely harming the interests of all parties involved.

The automaker voiced its opposition to "artificially setting up trade barriers" and called for safeguarding a level playing field.

SAIC Motor said that external pressures from Europe and the United States, among other factors, have caused short-term fluctuations in its overall sales this year, adding that the company is committed to overcoming these setbacks and aims to achieve consecutive month-on-month sales growth.

On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce stated that China opposes the European Commission's plan to impose import duties of up to 36.3 percent on Chinese EVs and will take all necessary measures to defend the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.

The commission's anti-subsidy investigation process on Chinese EVs did not comply with the World Trade Organization rules and was an act of "unfair competition" under the guise of "fair competition," according to the spokesperson.

Some foreign car manufacturers and parts suppliers have also voiced their opposition.

Countervailing duties are generally not suitable for strengthening the competitiveness of the European automotive industry in the long term and "we reject them," Volkswagen Group noted in a statement.

The timing of the European Commission's decision is detrimental to the current weak demand for battery vehicles in Germany and Europe, and the negative effects of this decision outweigh any potential benefits for the European and especially the German automotive industry, the statement read.

Speaking to Xinhua about the recent EU tariffs on China-made EVs, Philipp Schramm, CEO and CFO of Brose Group, an automotive parts manufacturing company in Germany, said that increasing trade tariffs and barriers undoubtedly violates global free trade norms.

Tariffs are not supporting technological advances because they are not fostering the ingenuity of individuals or teams working together globally, Schramm added.

"The decision is going a total wrong direction from my point of view," said Sven O. Otten, general manager of Tünkers (Jiangsu) Automation Technology Co., Ltd.

Meanwhile, Chinese experts have highlighted the long-term fallout of the tariffs.

European domestic manufacturers may gain a short-term advantage, but in the long run, rising prices and reduced options in the market could lead to a decline in overall demand, which would be detrimental to the healthy development of the entire EV industry, said Zhang Bin, professor at School of Business, Soochow University.

Ding Chun, director of the European affairs research center at Shanghai-based Fudan University, explored the motivations behind the EU's imposition of tariffs, attributing it to Europe's "anxiety" over Chinese EVs. He noted that China's EV industry has a clear comparative advantage over Europe's, and the fuel vehicle industry in Europe which involves a significant number of employees and voters, though declining, still holds sway.

With approximately 12 to 13 million people in Europe employed in the automotive industry, the EU appears willing to sacrifice environmental interests to repeatedly obstruct Chinese EVs, Ding said.

flagship brand, Zhen Jiu, stands as the main growth driver, its revenue increased by 17.2% from RMB2,305.9 million to RMB2,702.2 million during the Period. It contributed around 65.4% of the overall revenue during the Period, primarily driven by the growth of premium and above price range products, namely, the Zhen 15 Series, Zhen 30 Series, and deluxe package-free series.

The gross profit increase was primarily due to the Group's further focus on increasing the revenue contribution of products in the premium and above price range while steadily improving the overall gross margin by strategically optimizing the sales of mid-range and below product portfolios with low gross margins, and gradually replacing third-party produced base liquor with in-house production, which has lower associated costs, thereby bolstering profitability.

As of May 2024, Zhen Jiu's high-quality base liquor reserve reached 90,000 tons, and its production capacity surpassed 41,000 tons. This places Zhen Jiu among the top three Guizhou sauce-aroma baijiu companies, marking the brand's entry into the "Mao-Xi-Zhen" era.

Resilient Performance Amid Sluggish Baijiu Market Recovery

During the Period, the baijiu industry grappled with economic pressures and evolving consumption patterns, resulting in a sluggish market recovery. However, ZJLD has been earmarked for outperformance amid market headwinds through its strategic agility. Underpinned by its proactive implementation of Zhen Jiu's dual-channel growth strategy, the Group vigorously expanded its emerging sales channels and high-end customer base. It continued to enhance the distribution network and strengthen the market competitiveness of its sales channels. Additionally, the Group invested in expanding its storage capacity for premium baijiu while optimizing the allocation of resources across production costs and marketing expenditures. The Group also elevated its tasting events and distillery tours, creating the iconic and high-end "State Banquet * Zhen" (國之珍宴) experience that seamlessly integrates baijiu with culinary offerings, thereby stimulating growth in baijiu consumption.

Elevating the Premium Proposition and Diversifying the Brand Portfolio for Sustained Growth

The Group has demonstrated resilience by focusing on its premium and above-price-range baijiu products, with the revenue generated from the premium and above-price-range baijiu offerings increased from RMB2,193.6 million to RMB2,772.2 million, with its percentage share in the overall revenue rising from 62.3% to 67.1%.

Since Q4 of 2023, Zhen Jiu has implemented a dual-channel growth strategy, recognizing the distinct characteristics of traditional and emerging channels. This approach involves tailoring product portfolios, pricing mechanisms, and channel networks to the specific needs of each channel, maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of developing distributor groups. This strategy has yielded both short-term growth and the cultivation of high-potential distributor groups in emerging channels for long-term benefits. Complementing this, ZJLD's expansion through its "6+8+N" geographic strategy, well-managed channel inventory levels, and products with higher margins compared to its peers have contributed to the Company's resilient demand in many targeted provinces with rising consumption of sauce-aroma baijiu. The Group's long-term growth will undoubtedly be backed by its multi-brand portfolio and sufficient production capacity.

Consumer-Centric Distribution Network Backed by Expanding Production Capacity and Elevating Brand Experience

ZJLD Group has continued to work on building a consumer-centric distribution network that operates on a flat structure with nationwide coverage. The empowerment of distributors and the equitable sharing of benefits throughout the distribution network have been the key drivers in promoting the Company's sell-through and sell-out performance. Concurrently, ZJLD has progressively increased its overall production capacity to cater to market demand, gradually expanding existing facilities and constructing new ones to boost its base liquor production. The Group's continued investment in brand promotion has also created a strong brand presence in the baijiu industry, resonating with its target consumers. The newly launched acclaimed event series "State Banquet * Zhen" (國之珍宴) has gained widespread attention and appreciation in the baijiu industry, playing a pivotal role in enhancing Zhen Jiu's brand power and supporting its continued expansion into the high-end customer segments.

Mr. Wu Xiangdong, Founder and Chairman of ZJLD Group, commented, "Looking into the coming months before end of 2024, we are confident and well poised to strengthen our market position further. We will continue to step up to the plate by implementing a comprehensive strategy focusing on key initiatives covering brand, production capacity, distribution channels and talent development. Firstly, we will launch new products, upgrade some of our key product series, and boost the revenue contribution from baijiu products within the premium and above price ranges. Secondly, we will allocate resources to increase our base liquor reserve, ensuring a robust supply to meet the growing demand. Thirdly, we will improve the quality of our distributor base and optimize our distribution channel structure, further enhancing our go-to-market capabilities. Lastly, we will put forth concerted efforts to strengthen our brand power, leveraging our unique cultural heritage and innovative brand experiences to support our business expansion."

In a notable endorsement, Morgan Stanley issued a research report on 14 August, highlighting ZJLD Group's superior positioning compared to its peers in the face of industry destocking pressure and has initiated coverage on ZJLD with an "Overweight" rating, expressing confidence in the Company's long-term growth prospects. This positive assessment from a respected financial institution underscores ZJLD's ability to navigate the evolving market dynamics and solidifies its leadership position in the baijiu industry.

Hashtag: #ZJLDGroup

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.

About ZJLD Group Inc.

Zhen Jiu was established in 1975 in Zunyi, Guizhou, China's primary production area of sauce-aroma baijiu.

2 in 5 customers are not familiar with the details of their insurance policies, AIA Singapore's latest study finds.

SINGAPORE - Media OutReach Newswire - 19 August 2024 - AIA Singapore today announced its initiative to help customers better understand their insurance policies, improve their financial literacy in a continued bid to bridge the nation's protection gap. Through this initiative, the organisation aims to encourage more Singaporeans to attain adequate protection.

Alarmingly, a recent study commissioned by AIA Singapore found that over 2 in 5 customers are not familiar with the details of their insurance policies[1]. The survey also found that the majority of customers are most likely to selectively read their policy documents. Accordingly, customers' top three reasons for skimming or not reading their policy documents are — that the information is difficult to understand, lack of time for a more thorough read, and ease of tapping into their insurance representatives for advice.

"Minimising jargon in our policy documents and simplifying them will enable everyone to better understand what their policies cover and don't cover, allowing them to identify their protection gaps."

"Enhancing financial literacy and holistic wellness can go a long way with clear communication, and we hope this initiative serves as an effective step in that direction", said Ms Irma Hadikusuma, Chief Marketing and Proposition Officer of AIA Singapore.

Bridging Singapore's Significant Protection Gap, Particularly Among the Younger Demographics

AIA Singapore's initiative is set against the backdrop of significant protection gaps in the country. There exists a 74% gap in critical illness protection and 21% gap in mortality protection, according to the 2022 Protection Gap Study by the Life Insurance Association, Singapore[2].

While young adults aged 20 to 24 and fresh graduates face significant protection gaps, external research shows that they have an interest in purchasing insurance but lack the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions[3].

Moreover, the survey found that the use of simple and plain English enables most consumers to feel more confident about purchasing insurance policies on their own[4].

"Compared to more matured generations, younger consumers tend to be more active online. In fact, our study[5] found that over half of them are likely to explore digital touchpoints to expand their knowledge about insurance."

"Alongside our efforts to continuously enhance the skills and competencies of our insurance representatives, this initiative serves as an avenue for us to enable our customers to proactively protect themselves against financial uncertainties — especially amid rising costs of living and healthcare", Ms Irma added.

AIA Singapore's commitment to enabling customers to better understand their insurance policies, will be implemented through a multi-phased approach, starting with AIA HealthShield Gold Max (AIA HSG) policy materials. Customers with AIA HSG plans will be informed progressively from 27 July 2024.

[1] AIA Singapore Plain English Study.
