Eleven Chinese provinces have unveiled plans to apply for construction of free-trade zones in their provincial five-year plans for the period 2016-2020.
Meanwhile, Jiangsu province and Chongqing municipality are reported to have already submitted such applications to the central government, although neither of them mentioned it in their 13th Five-Year Plan.
As such, it is expected China would name the third batch of pilot free-trade zones soon. China has earlier approved Shanghai, Guangdong, Tianjin and Fujian to build free-trade zones in two batches.
