North China's Hebei Province is planning to launch comprehensive cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road in education.
According to a lately released action plan by Hebei education department, Hebei targets to have 5,000 international students from countries along the Belt and Road studying in the province by 2020.
To promote comprehensive educational cooperation, Hebei will push foward 5-10 schools including elementary schools, middle schools, and vocational schools in its every prefecture cities to establish cooperation with counterpart schools in countries along the Belt and Road, and encourage its colleges to establish friendly relationship with colleges in such countries by 2020.
Meanwhile, Hebei Province will found two or three new cooperatively-run schools jointly with renowned colleges in countries along the Belt and Road, launch 10-15 Sino-foreign education programs, and set up one or two Confucius Institute and five Confucius classrooms overseas and send 1,500 Chinese teachers and volunteers to teach in such countries by 2020.
The action plan also made specific schemes in unclogging international educational exchange tunnels, promoting languages exchange and cultural exchange with countries along the Belt and Road, and launching academic exchange and scientific research cooperation.
