East China's Jiangsu Province reported about 560.3 billion yuan (about 79.2 billion U.S. dollars) in imports and exports in the first two months of this year, said Nanjing Customs Wednesday.
During the period, Jiangsu's export volume reached 320.4 billion yuan, while its figure for imports amounted to 239.9 billion yuan, down 18.5 percent and 3.6 percent respectively year on year. The total volume of foreign trade has decreased 12.7 percent year on year.
In the first two months, Jiangsu's imports and exports with its trading partners including the European Union, the United States, the Republic of Korea and Japan dropped, while its trade with countries along the Belt and Road reached 140.3 billion yuan, up 0.7 percent in terms of the proportion it accounts for in the total foreign trade volume of Jiangsu.
Among the total foreign trade volume over the period, the trade proportion of private enterprises increased while the proportion of foreign-invested enterprises and state-owned enterprises decreased.
