The Shanghai branch of China Unicom (CHU.NYSE; 00762.HK; 600050.SH), Huawei and Shanghai Feilo Acoustics Co., Ltd. (600651.SH) jointly roll out a micro base station lamp on Friday.
The new product is a combination of micro base station and road lamp. The developers integrate functions of LED, camera, charging pile and electronic screen into the form of a road lamp, to make it a carrier of informatization and networks.
In the future, such road lamps in cities are expected to act as telecom equipment and urban information platforms and become part of information exchange systems and city administration monitoring mechanisms.
The new product is expected to boost the country's move of constructing smart cities and speeding up the full-coverage of wireless networks.
