The annual output capacity of SGMW Baojun base in Liuzhou city, southwest China's Guangxi, has exceeded 800,000 units after the second phase of its auto factory went into operation, according to the Commission of Industry and Information Technology of Liuzhou.
SGMW is a joint venture founded by SAIC Motor Co., Ltd, GM China and Liuzhou Wuling Motor Co., Ltd. Involving a total investment of 2 billion yuan, the second phase of the auto factory of SGMW Baojun base is able to produce 400,000 units of vehicles annually. The total auto output of SGMW reached 1.154 million units in January-July, up 10.9 percent year on year, 10.1 percentage points high than the average level of domestic automotive industry.
The sales volume of domestic automobiles increased 0.4 percent to 13.35 million units in the first seven months, while the figure for SGMW jumped 9.2 percent to 1.11 million units. And the sales volume of passenger vehicles from SGMW soared 423.5 percent to 217,000 units in the same period compared with 3.4 percent increase of sales volume of domestic passenger vehicles.
