Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation (WISCO) and Tidfore Heavy Equipment Group have lately signed an agreement to co-build a steel plant in Liberia, which is designed with an annual production capacity of 500,000 tonnes.

The two sides also agreed to build a construction material industrial park in the West African country.

Production of the new plant will rely on iron ores from local Bong mine, one of the earliest overseas mines WISCO has invested in.

WISCO has earlier improved infrastructure conditions around the Bong mine, including road construction and wharf extension.
