Changan Ford Automobile Co. Ltd., a joint venture between Changan Automobile and American automaker Ford, will recall 219,307 Ford Kuga over an oil tube defect.

Vehicles manufactured between July 3, 2012 and Nov. 26, 2014 will be recalled from Friday, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement.

There are concerns that the oil tubes of affected vehicles may crack and cause fuel leakage, which could pose a threat to safety in extreme cases, according to the statement.

Changan Ford said it would replace the tubes free of charge.
