PetroChina (PTR.NYSE; 00857.HK; 601857.SH), China's largest oil and gas producer, said on Monday that its first gas and electric vehicle (EV) charging station in southwest China's Sichuan province was officially operational on October 12. The dual-purpose facility, the Longmachengbei station, is located in the city of Luzhou.
It was expanded from an existing gas station, near which PetroChina built 30 fast-charging posts with a voltage of 380 V in 3 mu (approximately 2,000 square meters) of land.
According to a plan of the Luzhou government, the city plans to promote the use of over 1,000 new energy cars in 2016.
