Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. (GAC Honda), a joint venture of Japanese car maker Honda and Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd., completed the construction of its new factories in Zengcheng district of Guangzhou on Tuesday.
The two new factories include GAC Honda's third automobile factory and its first engine factory. They are intelligent factories based on the concept of Smart-SSC, which means smart, small, simple and compact.
Output capacity of the new automobile factory will reach 120,000 units per year in the initial stage and increase to 240,000 units per year in the future. By then, the output capacity of GAC Honda's three automobile factories will total 720,000 units per year.
GAC Honda has no engine factory in the before, and its car products are all equipped with engines produced by Dongfeng Honda, a joint venture of Honda and another Chinese car maker Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd. (00489.HK).
