China's largest oil and gas producer PetroChina (PTR.NYSE; 00857.HK; 601857.SH) said it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with General Electric Company (GE) on Wednesday on technological as well as research and development cooperation.
The two sides would explore further cooperation opportunities on capture, storage and utilization of carbon dioxide, low-carbon and environmental friendly technologies, service for development of non-conventional oil and gas.
The two companies have signed a strategic cooperation deal in January 2014 on globalization, technological innovation, energy development and utilization, manufacturing of petroleum equipment.
PetroChina and GE have carried out cooperation on treatment and utilization of oily sludge in Liaohe oilfield in northeast China's Liaoning province.
