China Dangdang Inc. founds global digital publishing headquarter in Wuhan

China Dangdang Inc. (DANG.NYSE) said it picked Wuhan as headquarters of its global digital publishing Thursday. The Chinese E-commerce company unveiled the news when signing a strategic cooperation agreement with Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone and other parties Thursday. Dangdang Wuhan headquarters' target is to become China's publishing giant and rank among the country's top three publishers within five years, said the company's CEO Li Guoqing.

According to the company, main business of the Wuhan global digital publishing headquarters covers the whole industry chain including digital publishing and content production such as online literature, comics and book listening as well as reading terminals, intelligent hardware R&D, and etc. Zuo Li, general manager of the company's digital business department, said digital publishing was Dangdang's core and strategic business now and the market size of the sector would reach several hundred billion yuan in three years.

The Wuhan digital publishing headquarters, registered with 100 million yuan, is likely to profit in 2016 and earn annual revenues of 300 million yuan next year and one billion yuan after three years.
