China's top oil and gas producer PetroChina (PTR.NYSE; 601857.SH; 00857.HK) now has over more than 16,000 convenience stores in operation at gas stations up from 2,974 ones in 2007, said a report by China Petroleum Daily on Friday.
PetroChina had 44.59 billion yuan of accumulative sales revenues form non-oil operations in the past eight years. Annual sales revenues from the sector climbed up to 9.88 billion yuan in 2014 from 660 million yuan in 2007. Averaged profits with single convenience store posted 42 percent of averaged year-on-year growth, said the report.
PetroChina said number of its convenience stores accounts for 36 percent of national total but contributing 40 percent of market share.
