Trina Solar accumulative module shipments exceed 15GW

Trina Solar (TSL.NYSE), a global leading provider of PV modules, solutions, and services, reported a total module shipments from its manufacturing facilities of 1.7032 GW for the third quarter of 2015, up 38.3 percent quarter on quarter and 60.1 percent year on year.

This enables the company to achieve a milestone of over 15GW module shipments accumulatively, said Gao Jifan, company chairman and CEO.

The module shipments included 1.3532 GW of external shipments and 350 MW of shipments to the company's own downstream PV power projects, according to a release on its website.

The company suffered net loss attributable to ordinary shareholders of 20 million US dollars in the third quarter, compared to net income of 40.9 million US dollars in the second quarter and net income of 11.5 million US dollars in the same quarter of 2014.

The company generated net revenues of 792.6 million US dollars in the third quarter, an increase of 9.6 percent from the second quarter of 2015 and 28.5 percent from the third quarter of 2014.

Gross margin was 17.4 percent, compared with 20 percent in the second quarter of 2015 and 16.7 percent in the third quarter of 2014.

The company raised its guidance for 2015 with total PV module shipments up to 5.5-5.6 GW from original guidance of 4.9-5.1 GW, of which 4.6-4.7 GW will be shipped to third-party customers.
