The China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) on Tuesday unveiled an intelligent ship model, i-Dolphin, at a forum in Shanghai, marking that China has entered the stage of designing and building the first intelligent ship in the world in a real sense.
Intelligent ship is a kind of high-tech ship with a big focus in the Made in China 2025 strategy and represents direction of ship development in the future. It is of important significance to the country's transformation and upgrading of the shipping industry and the global position, said industry insiders.
At present, contract design, whole-ship technical specification document, intelligent management and control system ordering document for the 38,800-metric ton (tonne) intelligent ship project have been compiled.
Some modules have been used in the real ships on a trial basis. Listed companies under the CSSC include China CSSC Holdings Limited (600150.SH), CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (Group) Company Limited (600685.SH), and CSSC Jiangnan Heavy Industry (600072.SH).
