The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC; 01398.HK; 601398.SH) said on Tuesday that it has provided an initial amount of 25 million U.S. dollars of loans for the construction of Dawood wind power project, a 49.5 MW wind power plant in Pakistan's Sindh province.
This project is a high priority for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. HydroChina Corp., a subsidiary of Power Construction Corp. of China, Ltd. (601669.SH), is in charge of building the plant. In early this March, HydroChina signed a deal with ICBC for an USD78.8 million credit line in total to back this wind power facility.
