Sinopec Group, parent company of top Asian refiner Sinopec Corp. (SNP.NYSE; 00386.HK; 600028.SH), Monday inked a memorandum of understanding with PetroKazakhstan Inc., said a release by Sinopec Group.
The two companies didn't reveal details of the cooperation arrangement. Plus, the CCR and PX facilities of Kazakhstan's Atyrau refinery, constructed by Sinopec Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Corporation, were recently accepted by a governmental commission.
The 1-million-tonne/year CCR facility came into operation in November 2015 while the 500,000-tonne/year PX facility is under trial operation. Sinopec supplies engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) services to the refinery with 1.004 billion US dollars of contract value.
