China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), the parent company of China's top oil and natural gas producer PetroChina (PTR.NYSE; 00857.HK; 601857.SH), Wednesday signed an agreement with the government of Kyrgyzstan on investment in a natural gas pipeline in Kyrgyzstan, said CNPC .
The Kyrgyz government would offer support and protection to the construction of the pipeline and both sides would reach an agreement on technological standards in designing and building the pipeline.
As a part of Line-D of Central Asian natural gas pipeline, the pipeline extends 215 km and has annual handling capacity of 30 billion cubic meters.
In 2014, Kyrgyz government had positive approval conclusion on the feasibility report of the pipeline.
