German automaker Audi AG announced on Thursday that its sales in China hit a new record in February.
According to the Ingolstadt-based company, 34,152 vehicles were delivered to Chinese customers in the traditionally lower sales month of the Chinese New Year, representing a year-on-year increase of 1.3 percent. Therefore, the brand's sales in China increased by 4.2 percent to 88,554 units in the first two months of the year.
The company also stated on its website that it has recently started to introduce a broad based generation changeover applying to large parts of its Chinese model range.
Meanwhile, Audi's worldwide deliveries increased by 3.3 percent year-on-year to around 126,500 cars. In Europe, the company achieved high sales growth, up 8.1 percent to around 65,150 units.
