Gulei Petrochemical Co., Ltd, a joint venture between Sinopec and its Taiwan-based partners, announced formal operation on November 7.
Gulei Petrochemical Co., Ltd is located in Zhangzhou Gulei Petrochemical Industrial Park in Zhangzhou City at east China's Fujian province.
Gulei integrated refining project consists of seven petroleum and chemical firms.
It is designed with annual production capacity of 16 million tonnes of oil and 1.2 million tonnes of ethylene, and 27 sets of downstream chemical facilities.
According to China's planning and layout for petrochemical industry, Gulei Petrochemical Industrial Park in Fujian has been regarded as one of the seven key petrochemical bases in China.
The other six parks are respectively located in Changxingdao in Dalian, Caofeidian in Hebei, Lianyungang in Jiangsu, Caojing in Shanghai, Ningbo in Zhejiang, and Huizhou in Guangdong.
