Goldwind International Holdings Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (002202.SZ), State Power Investment Corporation and Pacific Hydro signed the contract on November 18 to provide wind turbines for Chile's Punta project in Beijing.
Goldwind International general manager Pan Yantian, deputy manager Andreas Dupuis, State Power Investment deputy general manager Li Qizhao attended the signing ceremony.
The Punta project is located in north Chile's Coquimbo district, where records an annual average wind speed of 7 m/s.
Goldwind International will provide 32 GW121/2500 wind turbines for the project and operating the equipments for ten years.
The project is expected to join the country's grid and start generating in mid 2018.
The project is State Power Investment's first overseas wind power project after its acquisition of Pacific Hydro.
Goldwind won the internationally public bidding in May this year with its advantages in technology and comprehensive solution.
The project is also an important milestone in Goldwind and State Power Investment's cooperation.
As the second contract Goldwind signed in Chile, Punta project would greatly push forward its development in South America's market.
In 2014, Goldwind's 33MWNegrete project started commercial cooperation in south Chile's Bio Bio province.
