CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co. Ltd on December 19 inked contract with Czech domestic rail and bus operator Leo Express of which transaction value exceeded 20 million euros (20.82 million U.S. dollars).
Leo Express would purchase three electric multiple units (EMUs) from CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive under the contract which marks the first time that EMUs products of Chinese enterprises enter the EU market, according to Liao Hongtao, deputy general manager with CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive.
The contract includes three EMUs as well as spare parts, special tools, testing equipments and training services, according to Liao.
Liao also noted that CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive would provide all the EMUs that Leo Express needs in the next few years and Leo Express had expressed the plan to buy 30 EMUs in three years.
