A group led by Chinese investment firm CITIC Capital Holdings Limited and financial media Caixin Global has completed the acquisition of a financial information database operator.
The deal of buying Global Marketing Intelligence Division (GMID), a branch under global business information group Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, is worth 180.5 million U.S. dollars.
GMID mainly provides global financial information and data from the macro and micro perspectives,respectively, with a focus on key financial and business data for emerging markets.
After the acquisition, CITIC Capital and Caixin Global along with experienced management team from GMID will jointly manage the company's affairs.
"We will work together with GMID to expand and deepen its product offering, particularly that which is relevant to China, to better service the needs of its global customer base," said Zhang Yichen, chairman and CEO of CITIC Capital.
