Xiaomi saw its smart watch shipments in the first quarter amount to 3.7 million, only 100,000 less than that of Apple, according to the statistics released recently by the technology market analysis firm Canalys.
Experts noted that Xiaomi relies on its attractive and reasonable price to win the market.
Total smart watch shipments surpassed 20.50 million in the first three months, registering a year-on-year increase of 35 percent.
Among the top five wearable devices manufacturers in the world, market shares of both Apple and Xiaomi reached 18 percent respectively, while that of Fitbit, Garmin and Huawei stood at 11 percent, 7 percent and 6 percent respectively.
