China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC), one of China's leading construction and engineering companies, announced Monday that its subsidiary had won a coal rail contract worth 6.47 billion yuan.

The contract value is projected to account for 0.95 percent of CRCC's total operating income in 2017.

The contract for the communications, signals, power supply and electrification systems for the Inner Mongolia-Jiangxi Railway was put out for tender in June. The railway, China's longest rail line for coal transport, starts from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in western China, runs through central China, and ends in Jiangxi Province in eastern China. It is scheduled to be completed in 2020.

CRCC's subsidiary China Railway Construction Electrification Bureau Group Co., Ltd. was awarded to install the systems of communications, signals, power supply and electrification for a section of the railway line.

CRCC has built much of the transportation infrastructure in China, including high-speed rail lines, subways, and expressways.
