Tencent is ambitious to build industrial internet over the next three years by collaborating with its partners worldwide, as the company put it at the 2018 Tencent Global Partner Conference held on Thursday in China's Nanjing.

Themed as "Open and Intergrowth", the conference made it clear that Tencent's goal is to develop the industrial internet based on the concept of cloud computing, artificial intelligence and cyber security.

The company will put more effort into collaboration with its partners on capital, resources, technology, mutual capabilities and business opportunities.

Meanwhile, it will set up China's first industrial internet business school with Tencent's CEO Pony Ma as the honorary president.

"Our set of plans to build the industrial internet aim to build a robust ecosystem with our partners covering all the necessary resources and technologies," said Qiu Yuepeng, vice president of Tencent and president of Tencent Cloud.

According to Qiu, the traditional industrial era regarded coal and power as two necessities, but nowadays, information energy, represented by data, has developed into a primary engine for the current era of industrial development and transformation.

"Cloud computing will surely become a core element during the current industrial era because it is the carrier of big data and artificial intelligence," said Qiu.

Currently, Tencent Cloud has provided over 60 solutions to government affairs, finance, industry, retail, education and culture-oriented tourism.
