Deepening global cooperation has become a common way for various industries, including the dairy industry, to seek further development, Zhang Yipeng, vice president with Yili Group said on Thursday at the opening ceremony of Next Summit in Hangzhou, capital city of East China's Zhejiang Province.

In order to improve the quality of its dairy products, Yili Group has insisted in the concept of complementary resources, collaborative innovation, openness and win-win, Zhang added.

At present, the company has more than 700 suppliers in 34 countries and regions to secure the best resources around the world for its dairy products.

Yili Group has set the goal of becoming one of the most trustworthy food suppliers in the world, and quickened its pace to go global, Zhang said.

For example, in 2014, Yili Group unveiled its Oceania Production Base in New Zealand and also signed a cooperation agreement regarding comprehensive dairy industry chain research with Lincoln University of New Zealand.

Thanks to its collaborative innovation strategy, Yili Group has seen its high-end products account for nearly 50 percent, said Zhang.

Yili Group has witnessed a stable performance in recent years. In the first three quarters of 2018, it achieved a net profit of 5.056 billion yuan, ranking the top in the dairy industry, and its operating revenue amounted to 61.327 billion yuan during the period, a year-on-year growth of 16.88 percent. In 2017, its net profit reached 6.003 billion yuan.

Industrial insiders believe that Yili Group is expected to achieve the target of becoming one of the top five dairy producers in the world by 2020, with its operating revenue exceeding 100 billion yuan.
