China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), the country's largest oil and gas producer and supplier, reported fast growth in both its oil and non-oil business in January.
Sales of refined oil surpassed 10 million tonnes for the first time last month, up 12.4 percent year on year, the CNPC said on its website.
The company saw its profits near 600 million yuan (about 89 million U.S. dollars) in January, a year-on-year increase of 40 million yuan.
The CNPC's non-oil business generated a revenue of over 1.6 billion yuan last month, up 25.6 percent over the same period last year, with its gross profit rising 14.8 percent.
PetroChina, the listed arm of the CNPC, expected a 123 percent to 132 percent growth in net profits in 2018 according to a company statement last month.
