BEIJING, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Toys R Us, an international toy retailer brand, plans to double its stores in China over the next three years, as the market demand for good toys continues to grow, China Daily reported Wednesday.

The paper cited Nicholas Green, managing director of Toys R Us China, as saying that China will have 400 stores by 2021. Most of the new stores will be located in first-and second-tier cities. China will by then become the biggest market in Asia for Toys R Us, the report said.

Toys R Us entered the Chinese mainland market in 2006 and has been expanding its stores in recent years.

Chih-yuan Wang, retail research director of Mintel China, told the newspaper that despite a slow decline in global toy markets, China has seen stable growth over the past few years.

More wealthy parents and the effect of the second-child policy are behind the growth, according to the report.
