BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese courier giant STO Express posted a 48.62-percent growth in revenue in the first half of this year amid the continued expansion of the country's delivery market.

The company generated a revenue of about 9.87 billion yuan (about 1.38 billion U.S. dollars) between January and June, according to a report released by the company on Wednesday evening.

Net profits attributable to shareholders stood at 832 million yuan in H1, down 4.04 percent year on year.

A total of 3.012 billion parcels were delivered during the period, up 47.25 percent from a year ago, the company said.

The company attributed the strong growth of business volume to the continued growth of the e-commerce industry and the improvement of the company's service.
