NEW YORK, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- As its movies and resort are welcomed in China, The Walt Disney Company's access to the Chinese market increased over time, the head of the company said Wednesday.

Speaking at a panel discussion at Bloomberg Global Business Forum 2019, Bob Iger, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of The Walt Disney Company, said China is now its second largest movie market in the world.

"They welcomed us there and let us build Shanghai Disneyland," said Iger.

The company built Shanghai Disney Resort with significant government support on infrastructure including roads, transportation, trains, waste removal, power station among others, he said.

"I, generally, at least as the CEO of The Walt Disney Company, look at China quite favorably," said Iger, adding that he looks at China "more of a glass half full" at least for his company.

Focusing on creating high-quality entertainment experiences and effectively building local and Disney franchises in China, Disney currently has businesses in studio entertainment, parks and resorts, media networks, consumer products, interactive media and Disney English in the country, according to the website of The Walt Disney Company (China) Ltd.
