NANJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Italian Serie A outfit Inter Milan has reported record revenue of 417 million euros (462 million U.S. dollars) for the 2018/19 financial year, the club's owner said on Wednesday.

Suning, a Chinese retail giant who bought the club in 2016, said that the commercial revenue of Inter surged 20 percent year on year and it received 138 million euros from sponsorship during the previous season.

Part of the revenue could be attributed to the average home attendance of 61,419, which was the highest in Italy and the fifth-highest in Europe, according to Suning.

"Inter Milan has entered into a new chapter. It has been more recognized with better performance. All the work we have done to improve game results and club branding is evidence of our effective management," said Inter president Steven Zhang, who is also the son of Suning's chairman Zhang Jindong.

The 18-time Serie A champions last won the league title in the 2009/10 season and finished fourth last season.
