SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Boeing Company announced on Tuesday major program deliveries across its commercial and defense operations for the third quarter of 2020.

In commercial airplanes programs, Boeing has delivered a total of 28 aircraft in the third quarter of 2020. The year-to-date delivery reached 98, including two 777Fs to China Southern Airlines and two 737 planes to China Eastern Airlines.

In its defense, space and security programs, a total of 37 aircraft were delivered in the 3rd quarter.

"We continue to work closely with our customers around the globe, understanding their near-term and longer-term fleet needs, aligning supply and demand while navigating the significant impact this global pandemic continues to have on our industry," said Greg Smith, Boeing executive vice president of Enterprise Operations and chief financial officer.

According to Smith, the company is taking actions to resize, reshape and transform its business to preserve liquidity, and adapt to the new market reality.

"Our diverse portfolio, including our government services, defense and space programs, continues to provide some stability as we adapt and rebuild stronger for the other side of the pandemic," he noted.
