China's top liquor brand reports 15.88 pct net profit surge in H1

GUIYANG, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Kweichow Moutai, China's leading liquor maker, earned net profits of approximately 41.7 billion yuan (about 5.84 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half of 2024, up 15.88 percent year on year.

From January to June, its revenue climbed 17.76 percent year on year to 81.93 billion yuan, according to the company's semiyearly report released on Thursday evening.

According to the semiyearly report, in the first half of 2024, Kweichow Moutai's revenue and net profit both reached new historical highs.

Distilled in the town of Maotai in southwest China's Guizhou Province, this famed liquor is often served at state banquets.
