1. The State Council, China's Cabinet, has slashed another 62 administrative approval items in a fresh move to reduce government controls and stimulate the market. The new items involve 18 government departments, mostly local tax and health agencies, and are closely related to the market and the public.
2. The State Council on Wednesday stressed the importance of developing e-commerce in rural areas, according to a statement released after a State Council executive meeting presided over by Premier Li Keqiang. Private investment will be encouraged to explore channels for agricultural products to enter urban market. Poor areas will be given priority to set up pilot e-commerce villages.
