1. Chinese President Xi Jinping said Tuesday that the country's annual growth rate should be no less than 6.5 percent in the next five years to realize the goal to double 2010 GDP and per capita income by 2020.

2. China will reform the current environmental protection management system, in an attempt to make the watchdog more independent, President Xi Jinping said in a statement on Tuesday. An absence of supervision over local governments and intervention in the environmental watchdog's duties are common problems, according to the statement which explains the Proposal on Formulating the Thirteenth Five-year Plan (2016-2020). Provincial-level environmental departments will be put directly in charge of the city level and allocating the budget, Xi said.

3. A total of 435 companies listed on China's Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses unveiled private placement schemes since the beginning of this year, according to the statistics released by Wind Info, among which, 99 saw their stock fall below the prices they offered for the private placement by Tuesday, accounting for 22.5 percent of the total.
