The transport price index of China's road logistics was 1,077.1 this week from Monday to Friday, down 1.9 percent from the previous week, ending a six-week consecutive growth, China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) and Guangdong Lin'an Logistics Group jointly released on Friday.
The truckload shipping index dropped slightly faster than the less than truckload (LTL) shipping index. The truckload shipping index for this week was 1,015.3, down 2.5 percent over the previous week; the light LTL index was 1,158.2, down 1.01 percent; and the heavy LTL index was 1,180.3, down 1.0 percent. The transport cost indices in Shandong Peninsula, central China, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area dropped faster week on week by 1.7 percent to 1.9 percent; while those in the eastern costal regions declined less than 1.3 percent.
An industry insider said that the volume of road transport has stabilized in late October and the logistics prices will decline. But as the e-commerce giants are to launch sales activities in November and the LTL shipping index may grow steadily, while the truckload shipping index is to maintain stable.
