SEOUL, July 21 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's export logged a double-digit growth in the first 20 days of July amid the continued recovery in global demand, customs office data showed Wednesday.

The outbound shipment amounted to 32.6 billion U.S. dollars during the July 1-20 period, up 32.8 percent from the same period of last year, according to the Korea Customs Service.

The daily average export also soared 32.8 percent in the 20-day period amid the global demand recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The country's export kept expanding since November last year, surpassing 50 billion dollars for four straight months through June.

Export of semiconductors, cars, oil products, precision machinery and smartphones increased in double figures for the first 20 days of this month compared to a year earlier.

Import surged 46.1 percent to 36.5 billion dollars in the cited period, sending the trade deficit to 3.9 billion dollars.
